These series of outworlds or outside worlds feature pristine clear glass on the front and back, the side panels allow for connectivity and compatibility with our formicariums, the design is slim and with double lips on all edges makes escaping hard specially when combined with an escape barrier, you can easily combine them and create your network of foraging areas, nests and tubing paths.

 

It is recommended to use a thick escape barrier (similar to “Vaseline”) on all edges and rim of the top lid to ensure a perfect seal and to lubricate the parts in contact. Also, use your preferred escape barrier method, at least on 1 to 2 centimeters from the top edge of each inside wall, and on the internal flat surface of the lid.

Lid ventilation:

The mesh on the lid allows for plenty air exchange in the foraging area, keeping humidity as low as possible creates a dry foraging area that is key to prevent ants digging or attempting to nest there.

Tubing size:

The outside world has 4 opening holes for vinyl tubing, 2 on each side, the location of the openings match most of our formicarium designs for ease of use, tubing diameter is 9.5 mm (3/8″)

 

Length/Dimension options:

It is 8 centimeters tall by 10 centimeters depth, and we have 2 length options; 12 and 16 centimeters. The design allows for more bottom area compared to our plastic model allowing more space for foraging and feeding accessories.

 

For a tubs and tubes set up the 12 cm option can accommodate diagonally a 125 mm length test tube, the 16 cm option can fit test tubes as long as 150 mm.
